Our History

In February of 1986, long-time Nappanee residents Kim & Pam Stickley opened Coast to Coast Hardware. Two years later, they purchased the True Value store in Nappanee. They immediately moved the store to a larger location and converted it to Ace Hardware. Since those beginnings, the business has continued to grow with the addition of Ligonier Ace Hardware in 1993, Six Span Ace in Elkhart in 1997, LaGrange Ace Hardware in 2015, and Bremen Ace Hardware in 2017.

In 2025, Lisa and Jeremy Bear took a significant step in growing the family business by purchasing Six Span Ace, Ligonier Ace, and LaGrange Ace Hardware. Together with their son Travis, who had already been managing Six Span Ace in Elkhart since 2016, they now oversee the operations of all three locations. This expansion reflects their deep commitment to upholding the Stickley Ace Hardware legacy while continuing to serve their communities with dedication and family-driven values.
